About 40 percent of the 90 independent living units have been reserved at Seafields at Kiawah, a luxury retirement community for those 62 and older between Kiawah and Seabrook islands. The $180 million project broke ground in September.

Seafields at Kiawah Island (“Seafields”), the first 62+ Luxury Life Plan Community at the renowned resort island, has announced their initial slate of amenities and programming. Driven by the demand for elevated senior housing and healthcare in sought-after areas, the $180M facility will feature immersive experiences, exclusive partnerships, distinctively spacious floor plans, high-end amenities, and a first of its kind in-house medical clinic operated by the Medical University of South Carolina (“MUSC Health”).
In order to offer Kiawah Island’s renowned lifestyle to all ages, an active adult community is currently under construction. Seafields at Kiawah Island will be the area’s first luxury independent and assisted living Life Plan Community. Scheduled to open in 2024, Seafields at Kiawah Island will be able to offer the same quality of care, amenities, and opportunities Kiawah has always been recognized for.

A new senior housing facility, Seafields Village, is in the works to serve the Sea Island communities. “The one piece that was missing to complete Kiawah was a place for people to age in place,” Big Rock Partners Real Estate Founding Chairman Richard Ackerman said.
